Mother had a Lilac tree,

Played there when I was three.

Wild and young, running free,

That’s when I began to see,

One place I’ll always be,

'Neath the Lilac tree.

Underneath the Lilac tree,

I loved a beauty fair.

Petals fell upon her hair,

Now she’s gone, I know not where,

One place she’ll always be,

'Neath the Lilac tree.

How I miss my Mother sweet,

My love, my child, I long to meet.

Someday in the summer heat,

We’ll meet again at the the feet,

Of Mother’s Lilac Tree.

Beside the Lilac tree,

Married her and had a child.

We picked flowers in the wild,

Leaves in the fall became a pile,

One place we’ll always be, 'neath the Lilac tree.

How i miss my Mother sweet,

My love, my child, I long to meet.

Someday in the summer heat,

We’ll meet again at the the feet,

Of Mother’s Lilac Tree.

Within the Lilac tree,

Wood grew old and so did I,

Every spring the fragrance flies,

It's a bed I’ll lay to die.

One place I'll always be

"Neath, the Li, Lilac tree,

My Mother's Lilac tree,

Place where I was young and three, and

Wild and young, running free,

One more time, let me be,

Just there with you so I could see

My Mother's, my Mother's Lilac tree.
